The Hungry Hooker
Memphis BBQ Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. shrimp, shell on
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp Rendezvous seasoning
  • 2 tbsp ghee or butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth
  • salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • red pepper flakes, to taste
  • french bread, optional for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and ghee. Let it melt and add the garlic cloves and shallot. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, careful not to burn.
  2. Add the shrimp, juice of half a lemon, lemon slices of the other half, Rendezvous seasoning, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes and chicken broth. Turn the heat to low and bring broth to a simmer. Stir to combine the shrimp and seasonings. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Serve with french bread and enjoy!
